Promising an escape from the city, an escape from trite cooking, ESC Dining is a restaurant run with skill & ambition, by food lovers for food lovers.
Complimentary bread with plummy house-made tomato chutney. The menu ranges from tapas to pastas & pizzas, most at a fair median price of RM20-something.
?Looks like lasagna, but tastes not exactly like lasagna (RM23.90), thanks to the use of crepes, not pasta sheets, for an intriguing texture. Rich & creamy.
Barramundi (RM29.90), seared & baked, accompanied by veal reduction, puy lentils, citrus cabbage & crispy leeks. Fish enhanced with a meaty flavor, expertly executed in a fine recipe.?
1824 rib-eye (RM59.90) with truffle mash & roast pumpkin. Could have been the sort of ho-hum meat-&-potatoes platter that scores of other cafes in the Klang Valley serve, but instead, it's a prime example of how ESC works to elevate its food.
One complaint: wine is available only by the bottle so far.?
ESC also offers mystery set meals that change daily, potentially with premium components like Wagyu beef, oysters & foie gras; simply let the friendly team here know, preferably in advance, if you're feeling adventurous for your eating escapade.
